Supplier selection remains a buyer decision. High-end may prioritize finish options or service; economical may reduce customization. Neither preference proves that a supplier is qualified. A sample or document check has to correspond to the proposed material and model.
Resolve the ambiguous line before comparing totals
- “Weather resistant” without test conditions
- Ask what was evaluated, the sample identity, method, conditioning and reported result. A general product-family statement does not establish the performance of a different coating or seam.
- A fabric price presented as an assembly price
- Check whether the quote covers raw material, sewn cover, frame, brackets and controls. Different included parts can explain a lower amount even when the headline size looks similar.
- A sample with no revision link
- Record the sample code, drawing revision and agreed acceptance notes. Approval of a color swatch does not approve the mounting hardware or outdoor installation.
